When Thalia’s uncle from America and her older sister arrive, the situation radically changes, because the new arrivals happen to be open-minded and view things in a different light. With their help, Thalia eventually marries Petros, and her brother, Fanis, marries the woman from Mani with whom he has been in love for quite some time, not yet having had the courage to confess this to his authoritarian father. As for Lakis, he too becomes a member of the family by marrying Pythagoras’s youngest daughter.
